Answer the 15 questions below to get your homepage evaluation

1. Are the items on your homepage clearly focused on users’ key tasks?




2. Are your Product / Service categories clearly visible on the homepage?




3. Is there useful content (useful to the visitor) presented on the homepage or within one click of the homepage?




4. Does your homepage provide worthwhile content to the visitor (i.e. links, current blog posts, featured services, etc.)?




5. Do the links on the homepage begin with the most important keyword (e.g. "Campaign Website Design" not "Design for Political Campaigns")?




6. Is your value proposition clearly stated on the homepage (e.g. with a tagline or welcome blurb)?




7. Are the graphics on the homepage designed to help convey your overall message and not just clip art or pictures of models?




8. Are navigation choices ordered in the most logical or task-oriented manner with the most important information coming first?




9. Does the title of the homepage provide good visibility in search engines like Google?




10. Will visitors understand the value proposition within moments (less than 5 secs) of arriving on the homepage?




11. By just looking at the homepage, will a first time user understand where to start?




12. Does the homepage shows all the major sections and/or options?




13. Does the homepage look professionally designed creating a positive first impression?




14. Does the design of the homepage encourage people to explore the site?




15. Does the homepage look like a homepage and not be confused with pages lower in the site?
